The Detroit Style Pizza has a unique story and a delicious taste that has made it a fan favorite. It all started in 1946 when a Greek immigrant, Gus Guerra, moved to Detroit and opened a popular bar and grill. At this bar and grill, he served a pizza that was unlike anything else in the area. This pizza had a thick, buttery crust, and it was baked in a square pan that was seasoned with oil. The crust was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and it was topped with a generous amount of Wisconsin Brick cheese and pepperoni.
The Detroit Style Pizza quickly became a local favorite, and it wasn’t long before other restaurants in the area started offering their own versions of the pizza. Over time, the recipe was tweaked and perfected, and the Detroit Style Pizza slowly began to spread throughout the rest of the United States. Today, Detroit Style Pizza is enjoyed all over the world, and it’s become an integral part of the city’s culture.
