Kung Pao Chicken Ingredients:
-1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
-1/4 cup soy sauce
-2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
-2 tablespoons cornstarch
-2 tablespoons sesame oil
-2 tablespoons sugar
-1 tablespoon chili garlic paste
-1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
-3 cloves garlic, minced
-1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
-1/2 cup roasted, unsalted peanuts
-2 tablespoons canola oil
-1/2 cup diced bell peppers
-1/4 cup diced red onion
Kitchen Tools Needed:
-Measuring cups and spoons
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, cornstarch, sesame oil, sugar, chili garlic paste, and pepper.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and stir to coat. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the canola oil and garlic and ginger. Cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
- Add the chicken cubes to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the bell peppers and onion and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the peanuts and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the Kung Pao Chicken hot with steamed white rice or noodles.
