Ah, the Strawberry Mojito. It’s a summertime favorite of many, and the history of this refreshing cocktail goes back centuries. The original Mojito was invented in the 1500s by African slaves in Cuba who had access to lime, sugar and rum – the three ingredients that make up the classic Mojito. Over time, different variations of the Mojito have been created, including the Strawberry Mojito.
The Strawberry Mojito is a delicious and fruity twist on the traditional Mojito. It’s made with fresh summer strawberries, lime juice, sugar, mint and rum (or vodka). It’s perfect for sipping on a hot summer day and the bright flavor of the strawberries will make your taste buds sing!
Making a Strawberry Mojito at home is easy and requires just a few ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:
• 4-5 fresh, ripe strawberries
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice
6-8 fresh mint leaves
2 ounces of white rum (or vodka)
You’ll also need a shaker, a tall glass, and crushed ice.
To make your Strawberry Mojito, start by muddling the strawberries and sugar in the shaker. Add the lime juice, mint leaves and rum (or vodka). Shake thoroughly until all the ingredients are combined.
Fill the tall glass with crushed ice and pour the mixture over the ice. Garnish with a few more mint leaves and a slice of strawberry.
If you prefer a stronger drink, you can use dark rum instead of white rum. You can also adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
Enjoy your homemade Strawberry Mojito with friends on a hot summer day!
